Jurisdictional Bishop

Bishop Desmon L. Embry

  • Bishop Desmon Embry was born July 6, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan, to Apostle Lafayette and Elect Lady Lin Embry. He began his education in the Detroit Public School but was soon transferred to the Willow Run Community Schools where he received most of his scholastic training and received his High School Diploma in 1993.  After High School, Bishop Desmon Embry began his higher educational pursuits at Washtenaw Community College (WCC) where he earned an Associate of Arts Business Degree. After graduating from WCC, Bishop Embry desired to continue furthering his education and he began studying at Cleary University where he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business with a specialization in Corporate Accounting. During his studies, Bishop Embry earned several honors. He was on the Dean’s List multiple times, he  earned a Cum Laude Honors designation, and the university's Academic Excellence Award for his studies in the master’s program. After completing his secular education, Bishop Embry decided to pursue formal theological training to enhance him in ministry. In 2021, he began studies at the Cornerstone Theological Seminary, located in Grand Rapids Michigan. He is scheduled to complete  a  master’s degree in biblical studies in May 2026. Bishop Embry formally began preaching at the age of fourteen. Since that time, he has served with his parents at Judah Life in Praise Ministries of Detroit, Michigan. Both of his parents heavily influenced and nurtured him with the Word of God. Bishop Embry has served the church at various levels. In July 2020, he was appointed to be the Senior Pastor of Judah Life in Praise Ministries. Through his innovation, the ministry has grown both virtually and physically. During the 20th Annual Holy Convocation of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Churches, Pastor Embry was appointed District Elder of the Northeast Jurisdiction Region One.  During the 23rdAnnual Holy Convocation of the Pentecostal Fellowship Churches, Pastor Desmon Embry was selected by Chief Apostle Marshal Thomas as Bishop-Elect. He was  consecrated to the Office of Bishop in June 2025. Later that same year, Bishop  Embry was appointed as the Jurisdictional Bishop of the Northeast Region One Jurisdiction of the Pentecostal Fellowship Churches. On September 5, 1998, Bishop Desmon Embry was united in matrimony to Missionary Tasha Embry. God has blessed them with three children, Shayla, Jasmine, and Darius. They also have two grandchildren, Ja’Tavis (JD) and Ryleigh Oden.
